Synthetic CT imaging for PET monitoring in proton therapy: a simulation study

Abstract: Objective. This study addresses a fundamental limitation of In-beam Positron Emission Tomography (IB-PET) in proton therapy: the lack of direct anatomical representation in the images it produces.
