Synthetic biology: advancing biological frontiers by building synthetic systems

Abstract: Advances in synthetic biology are contributing to diverse research areas, from basic biology to biomanufacturing and disease therapy. We discuss the theoretical foundation, applications, and potential of this emerging field.
