Synthesize and Crystallization Kinetics of Biodegradable Aliphatic Poly(Butylene Succinate-Co-Diethylene Glycol)

Abstract: Biodegradable aliphatic poly(butylene succinate-co-diethylene succinate) (PBDEGS) were synthesized from succinic acid and diethylene glycol through a two step polycondensation with titanium tetraisoproxide (TTP) as catalyzer and polyphosphate (PPA) as the stablilizer at high temperature. The differential scanning calorimeter (DSC) was used to investigate the melting behavior, crystallization behavior and non-isothermal crystallization kinetics of this copolyester. The melting behavior showed that the melting t… Show more

“…In order to improve such properties, up to now, a series of copolymers of PBS with other comonomers such as adipic acid, terephthalic acid, ethylene glycol, diethylene glycol and ε-caprolactone have been investigated [8][9][10][11][12]. These copolymers have offered opportunities in understanding the effect of comonomers on the structures and properties of the copolyesters, and developing novel polymer materials with excellent properties.…”
