“…(14)], with a slope equal to DH ads =R. The negative values of DH ads in Table 7, indicates that adsorption exothermic [23][24][25]. In an exothermic process, chemisorption is distinguished from physisorption by the absolute value of DH ads .…”

“…In the spectrum of Gemini surfactant, broad bands at 1,688, 1,558, and 1,462 cm −1 are assigned to stretching vibration of C=O, bending vibration of N‐H and characteristic absorption of the quaternary ammonium salt. The peaks at 1,469 and 721 cm −1 were attributed to rocking vibration and bending vibration in the plane of ‐CH 2 , respectively . The characteristic peaks of Gemini C 4 ‐MMT have exhibited a blue shift to some extent, which resulted from the lower content of ‐CH 2 ‐ in C 4 ‐MMT compared with Gemini C 10 ‐MMT and Gemini C 18 ‐MMT.…”

“…It is seen that incorporating of the inhibitor into the corrosive solution causes a marked decrease in the rate of corrosion, i.e., shifts the cathodic curves toward more negative potentials and the anodic curves toward more positive potentials. This may be due to adsorption of the surfactant molecule on the metal substrate [30]. The important related Tafel indices including anodic and cathodic Tafel slopes (b a , b c ), corrosion potential (E corr ) and the corrosion current density (I corr ) were determined from the polarization plot and are tabulated in Table 1.…”

“…We compared our results with the literature data. Hegazy et al [30] studied the inhibition behavior of novel cationic surfactant, namely N,N 0 -[(oxalylbis(oxy))bis(ethane-2,1-diyl)]bis(N,N-dimethyldodecan-1aminium bromide), for carbon steel tubes corrosion in 1.0 M HCl. They found that in the presence of 5 mM of inhibitor, the inhibition efficiency was 89.02%.…”
