“…S2). This optical gaps is larger than those shown by most of classical‐type POMs such as Dawson‐type (Hdma) 4 [Cd(phen) 3 ][W 18 O 54 (PO 4 ) 2 ] · 2H 2 O (2.89 eV) and [Cd(phen) 3 ] 3 [W 18 O 54 (PO 4 ) 2 ] · 3H 2 O (2.73 eV), and even higher than that of the most well‐known photocatalyst (anatase TiO 2 , 3.20 eV). These comparative results revealed that 1 and 2 may be more suitable as a photocatalyst for some catalytic reactions.…”

“…Using 1 as a catalyst, the degradation rate of MO was close to 99.8 % after only 20 min [Figure and insert image (right)]. 1 showed catalytic efficiencies significantly higher than typical POM‐based photocatalysts including Dawson‐type phosphotungstates, (Hdma) 4 [Cd(phen) 3 ][W 18 O 54 (PO 4 ) 2 ] · 2H 2 O, [Cd(phen) 3 ] 3 [W 18 O 54 (PO 4 ) 2 ] · 3H 2 O, catalysts with the same open‐type phosphomolybdate structure such as [Cu(3‐bpo)(H 2 O)(Mo 4 O 13 )] · 3H 2 O, and TiO 2 ‐based photocatalytic materials …”

“…The characteristic absorption peaks at 1625, 1585, 1518, 1426, 1340, 1146, 1104 cm −1 should be ascribed to vibrations of C-C and N-C bonds from phen ring in compound 1 (Figure S4). The result presents appropriate shift compared to phen, showed at 1641, 1585, 1502, 1421, 1344, 1136, 1091 cm −1 , which indicates that the two N atoms of phen have coordinated with the zinc ions [36,37]. The intensity peaks at 940, 910 and 867 cm −1 are ascribed to the ν(V-O t ), while the peaks appeared at 846, 805 and 724 cm −1 show the vibrations of ν(O-V-O), which is consistent with relevant references [9,16].…”
