Synthesis, Structure, and Physical Properties of a New Anions-Controlled Cd(II)-Guanazole (3,5-Diamino-1,2,4-triazole) Hybrid Family

Abstract: Nine members of a new anions-controlled Cd(II)-guanazole (3,5-diamino-1,2,4-triazole=Hdatrz) hybrid family, that is, [Cd3(datrz)6(H2O)2] (1), [Cd3(datrz)4F2] (2), [Cd5(datrz)4Cl4(OH)2] (3), [Cd5(datrz)4Br4(OH)2] (4), [Cd3(datrz)2(SO3)2].(H2O) (5), [Cd3(datrz)2(O2CMe)4] (6), [Cd(datrz)(O2CEt)] (7), [Cd(Hdatrz)(O2CtBu)2] (8), and [Cd(Hdatrz)2(H2Edta)] (9) have been synthesized by exploiting hydrothermal reactions of guanazole with suitable cadmium salts under appropriate reaction conditions. With effective contr… Show more

“…The L -ligand coordinates the Cd(II) centre in bidentate mode. The Cd1-N1 bond length is 2.255(3) Å,and the Cd1-O1 and Cd1-O3 bond legnths are 2.345(2) Å and 2.384(2) Å,respectively, being within normal ranges in the reported complexes [6][7][8]. The trans angles of the octahedron are all 180°due to the center of inversion at Cd and the other angles are in the range 73.14(5)°-106.86(5)°.…”

“…In fact, no 4-dpts was isolated in a blank experiment without CuI. Additionally, replacement of CuI with CuBr in this reaction produced a different compound (44), of which 4-dps instead of 4-dpts was in situ formed [32]. More surprisingly, solvothermal reaction of 4-pyridinethiol with CuCl 2 ·2H 2 O in the presence of KI and EtOH gave the first example of a linear chain (45) formed by trinuclear Cu 3 I 4 units [33] (Scheme 27).…”

“…To explore the lumines- (Table 3). Importantly, a series of G n &CdL 2 (L = 4-amino-3,5-bis(4-pyridyl-3-phenyl)-1,2,4-triazole; n = 1, 2) host-guest complexes reported by Dong et al [41] and Cd II -guanazole (3,5-diamino-1,2,4-triazole) hybrid family reported by Yao et al [42] exhibit interesting sensing of organic small-molecule solvents and anions, respectively. The porosity and potential open metal/organic group sites within Cd MOFs have played a significant role on their sensing functionality, such as open Cd 2 + sites for small-molecule sensing, hydrogen-bonding interactions for X…”
