Synthesis, Structure, and Photoluminescence Property of a New Cd(II) Complex Based on 4-(2′,3′-Dicarboxylphenoxy) Benzoic Acid

Abstract

A new complex, namely [Cd(HL)(H 2 O) 2 ] n (H 3 L D 4-(2 0 ,3 0 -dicarboxylphenoxy) benzoic acid), has been hydrothermally synthesized by the reaction of H 3 L ligand and CdI 2 , and characterized by elemental analysis and IR spectroscopy. Single-crystal X-ray analysis shows that complex 1 belongs to the monoclinic system, P2(1)/n space group, a D 6.0658 (7) A , b D 8.7787(11) A , c D 29.510(4) A , b D 92.2920 (10) , F (000) D 888, R 1 D 0.0197, wR 2 D 0.0514. The Cd centers are bridged by L 3¡ ligands to form a 2D network that is further extended into a 3D framework by several sorts of hydrogen bonding interactions. Moreover, the thermal and luminescence properties of 1 have also been investigated.
