Abstract:Ge 16 O 28 (OH) 12 . -Single crystals of the title compound are prepared hydrothermally from an aq. NaOH solution of GeO2 (autoclave, 150°C, 96 h). Na4Ge16O28(OH)12 crystallizes in the monoclinic space group C2/m with Z = 1. The structure consists of germanium oxide sheets which are interconnected via electrostatic interactions with the Na + cations and hydrogen bonds.
