“…The existence of multiple diffraction peaks in the XRD pattern, confirms the polycrystalline nature of the CdO films [26] The mean grain size (G.S.) of the prepared samples was estimated from the full-width at the half-maximum (FWHM) of the highest intense peak at (222) plane, by using Debye-Scherrer formula [29,30]. The calculated values of grain size are given in Table 1.…”

“…In the case of pure PVA, a broad, intense peak observed at a scattering angle centered at 2θ = 19.25°, indicate the semicrystalline structure of PVA [ 19 , 20 ]. The occurrence of the semicrystalline structure of PVA mainly arose due to a strong intramolecular and intermolecular hydrogen bonding between PVA molecules [ 21 ]. The intensity of the characterized peak of PVA was gradually decreased with increasing salt content and disappeared at high salt concentrations, which implies the changes that occurred in the semicrystalline phase of the PVA matrix, due to the interaction between hydroxyl groups of the PVA and cations of the dissolved salt [ 22 , 23 ].…”

“…However, the interaction between PbO NPs and the blend may result in breaking the H‐bond of OH groups of the blend, and hence the molecular chains are free to rotate . The bands observed at 2,883 and 2,996 cm −1 are characteristics of the symmetry and asymmetry stretching mode of CH 2 group . The later band (2,996 cm −1 ) is shifted to 2,983 cm −1 after blending with PVP and PbO NPs addition.…”
