Synthesis, Spectral and Structural Characterization of the First Bis-2-Pyridylethanol Complexes of Mn(II), Fe(II), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II) and Zn(II) Saccharinates: Crystal Structures of Diaquabis(2-Pyridylethanol)Iron(II) and Copper(II) Saccharinates

Abstract: The first 2-pyridylethanol (pyet) complexes of manganese(II), iron(II), cobalt(II), nickel(II), copper(II) and zinc(II) saccharinates, were synthesized and characterized by elemental analyses, magnetic measurements, UV-Vis, and IR spectroscopic techniques. Crystal and molecular structures of the iron(II) and copper(II) complexes were determined by single crystal X-ray diffractometry.
