Synthesis, physicochemical and biological characterization of Ni(II) complex with imidazole-4-acetate anion as new antifungal agent

Abstract: The neutral mononuclear nickel(II) complex with an imidazole-4-acetate anion (iaa), having the formula [Ni(iaa) 2 (H 2 O) 2 ]•H 2 O, was characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction, IR, farIR, UV-Vis-NIR spectra and magnetic measurements. The imidazole-4-acetate anion in this complex is a chelating ligand where an azomethine nitrogen atom of the imidazole ring and carboxylate oxygen atoms are donor atoms. The immediate environment of the central nickel(II) ion is described by distorted cis-octahedron (Ni… Show more

“…In this experiment we used a high resolution melting (HRM) procedure (PCR-based technique), to analyse the melting temperature of amplicon/tested chemical agent complex formed after DNA incubation with metal complexes. This application of PCR-HRM technique was described in detail in our previously work 20 . The analysed agents might interact with DNA intercalated by SYBR Green I dye.…”

“…The effect of metal complexes on DNA was measured by polymerase chain reaction (PCR) with high resolution melting (HRM) using LightCycler 480 II (Hoffman-LaRoche, Switzerland) 20 . The PCR-HRM was performed according to manufacturer instructions using LightCycler 480 SYBR Green I Master (Hoffman-LaRoche, Switzerland).…”

“…In terms of complexes, they have been increasingly researched for their good hydrophilicity, bioavailability, and other advantages, revealing their unique value within antifungal medicinal science. In recent years, research toward developing imidazole-based complexes as antifungal agents has shown an increasing tendency [ 373 , 374 ].…”
