The formation of non-covalent electrostatic complexes based on the water-soluble fullerene derivative (WSFD) and chlorin e6, dissolved in water or in ethanol was showed by absorption and fluorescent spectroscopy methods. As a result of the formation of such complexes, the chlorine e6 absorption spectrum changed with a bathochromic shift and its fluorescence was effectively quenched. The Stern-Volmer constants of complex are 7.3·10^5 and 2·10^5 M^-1 in water and ethanol, respectively. It was found that complex consists of 1 molecule of WSFD and 3 dye molecules in aqueous solution, while in ethanol this ratio is 1:1.
