Abstract:In this research, acetophenone and thiourea reacted in the presence of iodine to produce 2-amino-4-phenylthiazoles (1, 2). These compounds were then used in three different reactions to create substituted Schiff-bases (3-5) by further reactions with substituted benzaldehyde.
