“…In this analysis, CuOnano@glass powder was spread on gold-coated double-sided carbon tape and analyzed using an acceleration voltage of 10 kV. The total content of copper on borophosphate glasses was determined by Inductively Coupled Plasma Optical Emission Spectrometry (ICP-OES) using a Thermo Scientific iCap 6000 Series Spectrometer 2 using the Cu emission line at 324.754 nm (axial view).…”

“…We have also evaluated their performance in catalysis, Surface-enhanced Raman Spectroscopy (SERS), and antibacterial applications. [5][6][7][8][9] Phosphate-based glasses can be obtained at relatively low temperature by melt-quenching technique using affordable chemical reagents (e.g., KH 2 PO 4 , P 2 O 5 , NaPO 3 or NaH 2 PO 4 ). In addition, this type of glass becomes even more interesting because it can be easily doped with transition metal ions, alkali, and rare earth oxides to provide the desired physical and/or chemical characteristics.…”

“…This makes it difficult to control the preparation conditions precisely, in particular, the closely packed nanoparticles can be produced only in a small range of the annealing temperatures. This not only reduces largely the reproducibility of the fabrication techniques, but also results in instability of the SERS substrates, where small‐gaped nanoparticles are mainly produced at lower annealing temperatures and difficult to control . Furthermore, heating by the excitation laser during the SERS measurements may even melt the small particles, change their morphology and consequently the plasmonic response of the metallic nanostructures.…”
