Synthesis of Refractory Metal Carbides on Carbon Fibers in Molten Salts and Their Electrochemical and Electrocatalytic Properties

Abstract: TaC and NbC coatings and Mo2C crystals on the carbon fibers were obtained by the currentless transfer in molten salts. Investigation of electrocatalytic properties of these compositions in the reaction of the hydrogen peroxide decomposition was carried out. The kinetic parameters of this reaction were determined. It has been established that NbC on carbon fibers has a higher electrocatalytical properties in comparison with other carbides.
