Synthesis of Processable Conducting Polyaniline Nanocomposite Based on Novel Methodology

Abstract: A series of nanocomposites between aniline and vinyl acetate were synthesized chemically by an oxidative polymerization and inverse emulsion polymerization by using different solutions and oxidants such as ammonium persulfate/potassium iodate and potassium permanganate/benzoyl peroxide in the presence of various surfactants such as sodium dodecylbenzenesulfonate, poly(vinyl alcohol) and hydroxypropylcellulose, respectively. The products were characterized in terms of conductivity, morphology, particle size, co… Show more

“…Among the conducting polymers PPy and PAn are the most environmentally stable known conducting polymer and also one of the most commonly investigated conducting polymer due to its high electrical conductivity, nontoxicity, good environmental stability, biocompatibility, simple synthesis, and low cost (17,18). Conducting polymers found applications in various fields such as microelectronics, composite materials, optics and biosensors, neuroprosthetic devices, drug delivery devices, actuators, biosensors, and as adsorbent (19,20).…”
