“…The peak at BE 939.2 eV was identified as 2p 3/2 of Cu 2+ , while 942.1 eV was CuO [21]. The peaks at 950.7 eV were 2p 1/2 of Cu 1+ [22] convoluted with the Cu 2 O peak at 952 eV [23] and at 960.9 eV is Cu 2+ 2p 1/2 . The existence of both +1 and +2 oxidation states in these compounds confirms the expected charge balance of tetrahedrite compounds…”

“…Further characterization of the CuO-SnO 2 thin films by Raman spectroscopy is shown in Figure 3(B). The spectrum shows two Raman modes of CuO (~619 cm −1 ) [24] and non-stoichiometric SnO 2 (~669 cm −1 ) [25]. The peak at ~669 cm -1 could not find in the bulk stoichiometric SnO 2 where the Raman modes centered at 123 (B1g), 476 (Eg), 634 (A1g), and 778 cm -1 (B2g)) [26], but in the mixture phases of Sn and SnO 2 (or nonstoichiometric SnO 2-δ ), as reported by Wang et al [27].…”
