“…The compositions of the organic structures were estimated by TGA ( Figure 3c). The TGA curve of TiO2-PCHPMA exhibited three-stage weight loss as observed for various TiO2-polymer composites [11,20,48,57,58]. The first approximately 10% weight loss below 200 °C originates from the evaporation of physiosorbed water and alcohols on the nanocomposite surface.…”

“…Broad absorption peaks originating from the Ti-O bond were observed around 620 cm −1 in the FTIR spectra of unmodified TiO 2 , TiO 2 -MPS, and TiO 2 -PCHPMA [56]. The spectrum of the precursor TiO 2 -MPS showed characteristic peaks originating from MPS at 2986, 1717, 1680, 1461, 1192, and 1042 cm −1 , assigned to the C-H, C=O, and C=C stretching, C-H bending, C-O-C and Ti-O-Si stretching vibrations, respectively [47,57,58]. The FTIR spectrum of TiO 2 -PCHPMA exhibits a weak absorption peak around 750 cm −1 assignable to the C-Cl bonds as observed in the spectrum of PCHPMA.…”

“…Though few research efforts have been reported on the synthesis of polymer-inorganic oxide nanocomposites in carbon dioxide (12)(13)(14)(15)(16)(17)(18), however, the synthesis of heterocyclic polymer nanocomposites in scCO 2 is very limited in the literature, including polypyrrole/SiO 2 hybrid nanocomposite (19). The objectives of the study are to find a new route towards chelates that can be applied in the separation of heavy metals from water and wastewater.…”

“…Although polymer/inorganic filler nanocomposites have previously been successfully synthesized using scCO 2 [43][44][45][46], to the best of our knowledge, no work has been published on the preparation of polymer PHEMA and Fe 3 O 4 hybrid nanocomposite. In this work, for the first, nanocomposite consists of PHEMA as a shell and surface-modified Fe 3 O 4 as a core, which was prepared by dispersion polymerization in scCO 2 .…”

“…Products can be easily isolated as a dry powder by depressurization of CO 2 . In recent years, several polymer/inorganic filler nanocomposites have been successfully synthesized using scCO 2 [43][44][45][46].…”
