Synthesis of Novel Schiff's Bases Containing Pyridine Rings

Abstract: Synthesis and characterization of six new Schiff's bases, potential hexadentate ligands, containing amide groups and pyridine rings with shallow structures are described. The two step reactions involving ring opening of isatoic anhydride with diamines followed by condensation with pyridine aldehydes proceed smoothly to give Schiff's bases containing pyridine rings in high purity and better yields.
