“…After that, the electrochemical deposition process was performed in a three-electrode system using the Ni(NO 3 ) 2 ·6H 2 O aqueous solution as electrolyte. The OH − generated by electrolytic reaction at the Ag electrode surface causes constant Ni(OH) 2 deposited, and thus hierarchical Ag@Ni(OH) 2 nanospheres are formed as described by the following equations [19]: (XPS) measurement was performed on an ESCALAB 250Xi (ThermoFisher Scientific Co., Ltd, USA) with Al Kα as the X-ray source.…”

“…For electrocatalysis, the 1D morphology promotes the gas bubbles evolving and releasing from the catalyst surface, enhancing the electrolyte contact with the catalyst . Therefore, through a proper core/shell combination, synergistic properties are produced, leading to large and simultaneous enhancement of the overall performance …”

“…For example, Ma et al have electrodeposited CoO branch nanoflakes on conductive Co nanowire core to form a hierarchical porous Co/CoO core/shell 1D‐2D synergized structure. Besides, by a similar process, Lo et al have fabricated high‐performing SC electrodes, based on the Ni(OH) 2 nanoflakes modified on the ZnO nanowires; Shi et al obtained a self‐standing molybdenum carbide (Mo 2 C)/MnO 2 nanocomposite, in which ultrathin MnO 2 nanosheets were uniformly wrapped on highly conductive Mo 2 C nanofibers (Mo 2 C NFs) to form a cross‐linked network. Nevertheless, electrodeposition requires the use of highly conducting substrates, and it can be difficult to scale‐up.…”

“…Zeng et al synthesized a unique nuclear ZnO@C@NiCo 2 O 4 nanosheet array on a carbon substrate using a simple hydrothermal and electrodeposition method. Due to the introduction of carbon from metal‐organic framework and core–shell structure, the hybrid electrode exhibits significantly enhanced electrochemical performance compared to ZnO@NiCo 2 O 4 nanorods, and also 3D ZnO@MnO 2 core–shell nanotubes, ZnO/Ni(OH) 2 , ZnO@MnCo 2 O 4 . The use of the substrate on the load of ZnO as a core design gives us a great inspiration.…”
