Synthesis of Lu2O3:Eu3+ Luminescent Ceramic Powder Embedded in SiO2 Matrix

Abstract: In the present work, the effect of SiO 2 was analyzed in different molar ratios (Lu : Si = 4 : 1, 6 : 1, 8 : 1, 10 : 1 and 1 : 0), in order to prepare SiO 2 embedded Lu 2 O 3 :Eu 3+ sol-gel luminescent powders, from a modified PVP-containing solution. The crystalized SiO 2 embedded Lu 2 O 3 :Eu 3+ powders were characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy revealing the presence of high intensity bands associated with siloxanes groups at 700°C, which could indicate a cross-linked Si-O groups to Lu 2 … Show more

“…1b), in addition to the diffraction peaks of the GaN substrate, more diffraction peaks are observed at 6.0°, 29.8° and 61.9°, corresponding to the (0 0 2) crystal plane of Ti 3 C 2 T x and (2 2 2) 35 and (4 4 4) crystal planes of Lu 2 O 3 , respectively. 36,37 This indicates that the synthesized Lu 2 O 3 has a single crystal orientation, and Ti 3 C 2 T x has been successfully deposited on the film surface.…”

“…Firstly, the Lu 2 O 3 sol was prepared by dissolving Lu 2 O 3 powder in concentrated HNO 3 ; the reaction took place under vigorous stirring and heating (100 • C) to obtain Lu(NO 3 ) 3 crystals [14]. Then, 0.5 mmol of Lu(NO 3 ) 3 was mixed in ethanol and AcAc as the chelating agent in a Lu:AcAc molar ratio of 1:1 under vigorous stirring for an hour [14][15][16]. In the second part, the SiO 2 sol was prepared from 2 dissolutions: (1) an amount of 7.6 mL of TEOS was added to ethanol (molar ratio TEOS:ethanol = 1:4) and (2) HCl was added to deionized water with a molar ratio of 530:1 of H 2 O:HCl, respectively.…”
