Synthesis of Isatin and Its Derivatives and their Applications in Biological System

Abstract: Here investigations were made to study the variant developments in the synthesis of isatin and its derivatives. This review comprehended the various synthetic methods especially, sandmeyer synthesis, stolle synthesis and gassman synthesis for the synthesis of isatin. The isatin and its derivatives played a key role in biomedical applications. The isatin and its derivatives are used as bactericide, fungicide, anti-HIV, anti-epileptic, anti-instigative and so on. The isatin derivatives are helpful in inhibiting … Show more

“…Vibrational frequencies, along with their timid assignments of reported metal(II) complexes, were exactly listed in Table 2. The band is shown at 1620 cm -1 represents ν(C=N) that is shifted near the low region approximately 1595-1609 cm -1 in derived complexes and it clearly tells the confirmation of C=N molecule in the prepared formation of complexes 16 . The formation of non-ligand bands in complexes just about 444-468 cm -1 are due to (Metal-N) bond respectively 17 .…”

“…The Mn(II) complex depicts transition bands by 694, 555, and 522 nm attributed to 6 A 1 g → 4 A 1 g, 6 A 1 g → 4 Eg, 4 A 1 g, and 6 A 1 g → 4 A 2 g, respectively, that are depicted to an octahedral geometry about manganese(II) ion. Mn(II) complex shows a magnetic moment value at 5.92 B.M 9 .…”

“…Schiff bases of isatin with aminothiazole, its N-mannich bases and Spiro isatin extracts were combined. Anti-inflammatory activity has been tested by carragenin for rat paw edema and computers have been tested for analgesic action by writhing acetic acid-induced writhing method 26 . A series of Schiff novels from the isatin novel were combined with a thickened imesatin with distinctive aldehyde and tested for pain relief in the form of tail immersion.…”
