Potentially bioactive Schiff base metal complex is a kind of attractive reagents due to specific activities of pharmacology and physiology. Medical inorganic chemistry has exploited metal ions' unique properties to design new drugs. In this study a novel Cu(II), Ni(II), Mn(II) and Co(II) Schiff base complexes have been from p - nitroaniline, isatin and 2, 2′ bipyridyl. The elemental analyses of the complexes are confined to the stoichiometry of the type L1L2M [M = Cu(II), Ni(II), Mn(II) and Co(II)], respectively, where L is Schiff base ligand in the ratio of 1:1:1. Structures have been proposed from elemental analyses, IR, UV, 1H NMR, ESR spectral data and magnetic studies. The measured low molar conductance values in DMF indicate that the complexes are nonelectrolytes. The IR data tells us the association of C=N nitrogen atom in co - ordination to the metal ion. The UV spectral studies and magnetic measurements suggested the octahedral geometry around metal ion under investigation. The EPR spectral data shows additional proof for the octahedral geometry. In addition, the antioxidative activity was also determined. The ligand's antioxidative activity and its complexes demonstrate that, compared to the ligand, the complexes exhibit higher scavenging activity. The antibacterial activity of these compounds was studied in vitro by the disc diffusion assay against two Gram-positive bacteria like Staphylococcus aureus, Bacillus subtilis and two Gram-negative bacteria like Escherichia coli and Klebsilla pneumonia. The complexes show significant growth inhibitory activity than ligands.

Potentially bioactive tetradentate novel Schiff base ligand and its mononuclear metal (II) complexes have been synthesized by the condensation method of p -nitroaniline, isatin, and 2, 2′ bipyridyl molecules in the ratio of 1:1:1. The ligand and its reported complexes exactly categorized by diverse physicochemical techniques that include elemental analysis, conductance measurements, IR, electronic spectra studies, 1 H NMR spectroscopy, and EPR studies. Derived complexes are exactly non-electrolyte in nature in Dimethylformamide solution because of their lower conductance values. The IR data tells us the association of C=N nitrogen atom in coordination to the metal ion. Electronical studies and magnetic measurements suggested the octahedral geometry around metal ion under investigation. The EPR spectral data shows additional proof for the octahedral geometry. The nucleolytic cleavage of the reported compounds was checked upon pUC18 DNA by gel -electrophoresis method. In this study, anti-oxidant and anti-microbial activities have also been evidently studied. The compounds show exact growth inhibitory activity over bacteria such as S. aureus, E. coli, B. subtilis and K, pneumonia than derived free ligands. INTRODUCTION:The success of developing cisplatin as an effectual anticancer agent has drawn the notice of numerous bio-inorganic chemists en route to preparing the numerous transition metal complexes with enhanced anticancer efficacy 1 . Even though there are several biological issues in anticancer cells, which includes Ribonucleic acid, protein or enzyme and is admitted universally that Deoxy Ribonucleic acid is the prime acheivement for several anticancer drugs.

Isatin (1H-indole-2,3-dione) and its derivatives represent an important class of heterocyclic compounds that can be used as precursors for drug production. Erdmann1 and Laurent2 first discovered isatin in 1840 as an oxidation product of indigo dye for nitric acid and chromic acid. Isatin is one of the most important heterocyclic compounds. For example, Schiff foundations of isatin are used for their medicinal properties. This review understands a variety of synthetic methods in particular, sandmeyer synthesis, stolle synthesis, and gassman synthesis isatin synthesis. This review reports some of the biological applications of Isatin derivatives such as anticancer, antiviral, antifungal, antioxidant, etc. From these studies, Isatin was established as a promising candidate for further research and investigation in a number of fields. INTRODUCTION:Tribulin was the first name given to Isatin. 1-Hindole-2, 3-Dione is the chemical name for isatin, from which the indole comes. Erdman and Laurent began making this ingredient in 1841 by adding Indigo dye for chromic acid and nitric acid. The compound is found in many plants, such as Isatis tinctoria, Calanthe discolor, and Couroupita guianensis. Isatin is also found in plants, such as melosatin alkaloids (methoxy phenylpentyl isatins) in Melochia tomentosa. Isatin is also found in humans as a metabolic effect of adrenaline 1 .
