“…Microwave discharge of an O 2 /H 2 gas mixture at low pressure followed by low-temperature condensation of the discharge products results in a mixture of H 2 O x (x = 1-4). The mixture composition and the content of hydrogen peroxides were studied by Raman spectroscopy 42 . As the content of O 2 in the gas mixture increases, the content of hydrogen peroxide in the mixture decreases monotonically, whereas the fraction of higher oxides grows.…”

“…As the content of O 2 in the gas mixture increases, the content of hydrogen peroxide in the mixture decreases monotonically, whereas the fraction of higher oxides grows. In particular, the molar fraction of HOOOH in the condensate exceeds 0.3 at 70 vol% O 2 , whereas the content of the other oxides amounts to ∼0.25 (H 2 O and HOOH each) and >0.1 (HOOOOH) 42 . The thermal decomposition of hydrotrioxides of certain silanes and germanes to give HOOOH was studied in Ref.…”

“…The infrared spectrum of hydrogen trioxide is reasonably understood, even though some discrepancies exist for the vibrations of the oxygen framework, as one of them has been suggested to belong to H 2 O 4 . A recent landmark investigation by Levanov et al showed that it is possible to obtain H 2 O 4 in quantities large enough to obtain its Raman spectrum. As noted by Levanov et al, this was the first time convincing evidence was provided for the existence of hydrogen tetroxide.…”

“…[1] Some of the most promising methods are:a )ozone reduction, [2] b) decomposition of hydrotrioxides with retention of the trioxide function, [3] c) reaction of hydrogen peroxide with ozone, [4] d) microwave discharge of an O 3 /O 2 / H 2 gas mixtures at low pressure followed by low-temperature condensation, [5] and d) photoelimination from ametal hydroperoxo-hydroxo complex. [6] However,s olutions of HOOOH in various solvents are usually contaminated with anumber of by-products,s uch as oxidation products and HOOH.…”
