Synthesis of Graphene Oxide Nanoparticles by Laser Ablation System

Abstract: In this study, graphene oxide (GO) and reduced graphene oxide were synthesized by pulsed Nd:YAG laser with a fundamental wavelength (1064 nm) focused on the pure graphite target which was immersed in distilled water. Different pulse energies were applied in two cases; with and without magnetic field. The synthesized GO and rGO nanoparticles were characterized by UV-visible spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy and atomic force microscopy (AFM) with and without ma… Show more

“…However, because of the poor contact between the iron catalyst and the carrier materials, most iron-containing catalysts are not practical and increase iron leaching after cyclic use numerous times, resulting in catalytic stability and decreased activity. [13][14][15] The carbon atom is one of the most abundant atoms on Earth, appearing naturally in a variety of forms and as a component in a large number of compounds known as allotropes of carbon [16].These potential characteristics have been used in a variety of applications, including electronics, batteries, sensors, and composite materials. The preparation of hydrogels with exceptional mechanical characteristics drew a large number of people.…”

“…The added impurities may be associated with increased oxygen vacancies caused by the ZnO: Al lattice, which is the main factor in the gas sensing mechanism [30], [31]. Figures (9) and (10) illustrate the resistance variation of ZnO: Al0.3 wt% and ZnO: Al0.5 wt% samples prepared without and with the magnetic field, respectively, when exposed to 100 ppm concentration of H2S. The AZO-based sensors were tested at different working temperatures (150, 200, 250, and 300 °C).…”

“…The modified and improved methods are the traditional and popular techniques that are used to produce GO in the present time. Furthermore, there are novel attempts to synthesize GO using novel technologies such as, electrochemical [31], microwave [32], ultrasonic [33], and laser ablation [34].…”
