Synthesis of CNT‐polyurethane nanocomposites using ester‐based polyols with different molecular structure: Mechanical, thermal, and electrical properties

Abstract: Polyurethanes (PUs) were prepared by in situ polymerization of three diisocyanate with three synthesized low cost esterbased polyols. The effect of diisocyanate type, diol structure, and molar ratio of diisocyanate to polyol on the mechanical properties was examined and the optimum chemical structure was introduced regarding the superior mechanical properties. Also, in presence of well dispersed hydroxylated multiwalled carbon nanotubes (CNT), PU/CNT nanocomposites were synthesized and fully characterized. The… Show more

“…Therefore, the materials with both electrical conductive and thermal conductive, which has great potential application in the electronic components, has received much attention in recent years. Thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) is a kind of unique rubber material with the better elasticity, toughness, durability, and especially the outstanding elastic buffer property and then widely used in transportation, construction, mechanical engineering, and electronic equipment 2–6 . In order to meet the requirement of some specific application, such as buffer gasket in mobile phone and laptop, it is necessary to research and develop the TPU with both electrical conductivity and thermal conductivity.…”

“…Therefore, improving anti‐aging property of PU‐based materials will be of great magnificence . To this end, a lot of works have been done to focus on the improvement of anti‐aging property of PU‐based materials by incorporating fillers, such as clay, glass, carbon nanotubes, and graphene, and so forth. Among these fillers, clays, due to their inexpensiveness, have been extensively utilized to improve materials' physical and mechanical properties .…”
