Synthesis of CF₃‐Containing β‐Hetaryl‐Substituted Enones.

Abstract

Enones. -The readily accessible and stable sulfone (II) reacts with pyrazoles, imidazoles, triazoles, and their benzo analogues stereoselectively to form exclusively (E)-isomers of β-azolyl-substituted enones. Quaternization of the azolyl group with methyl triflate (IV) gives rise to salts (V) and (VIII) in quantitative yields.
