Synthesis of Calcium Phosphate Composite Organogels by Using Emulsion Method for Dentine Occlusion Materials

Abstract: Abstract. Dentinal hypersensitivity (DH) is one of the most human's problems caused by the erosion of enamel. There are many methods and materials to solve this problem. Calcium phosphate is an excellent alternative for curing this symptom because of its osteoconductivity, and biocompatibility properties. The low-cost and low-toxicity calcium phosphate nanogel was fabricated by using emulsion method and characterized by using TEM, EDX, and DLS techniques. The results showed that P123 (poly (ethylene oxide)19-b… Show more

“…Though in few reports, variation in size of nanoparticles was reported due to differences in frequency of stirring and pH of the suspension [24]. The zeta potential reported here for the nanoparticles was similar to that reported by others for calcium phosphate nanoparticles [40][41][42].…”

“…Because the gel is synthesized for use in dentistry and directly onto the body, it is important that the employed substances are not toxic. Herein, oleic fatty acid was used as an oil phase and gelatin was employed as an additive for gel formation and template to determine the direction and size of the particles together with surfactant since it is a substance found in general cooking and used as an effective drug transporter in the body [3].The surfactant used in this work was Tween 20. Since oleic fatty acid was as an external phase, surfactant used in the system should have an HLB value of 17.…”
