Synthesis of C-N-S-Tridoped TiO2 from Vietnam Ilmenite Ore and Its Visible Light-Driven-Photocatalytic Activity for Tetracyline Degradation

Abstract: In this study, C-N-S-tridoped TiO 2 composite was fabricated from TiO 2 prepared from ilmenite ore and thiourea by means of hydrothermal method. The obtained material was characterized by X-ray diffraction, Raman scattering spectroscopy, UV-Vis diffuse reflectance spectroscopy, nitrogen adsorption-desorption isotherms, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). It was found that C-N-S-tridoped TiO 2 material has a large specific surfa… Show more

“…Figure 3(c) shows the Raman spectra of C/N/TiO 2 hybrid composite. In particular, the Raman peaks at roughly 144 (E g ), 203 (E g ), 399 (B1 g ), 519 (B1 g ), and 639 (E g ) cm −1 and the spectral pattern fit well with the results that have been reported in the literature for typical anatase TiO 2 [50,51]. In addition to this, Figure 3(c) displays an additional feature in the vicinity of 560 cm −1 [51].…”

“…Visible light-driven photocatalysis has gained much attention recently in the remediation of environmental pollution. Novel photocatalysts are being developed to work in visible light spectra [74,75]. AgI/BiVO 4 heterostructured photocatalyst was synthesized in situ that has shown excellent photoactivity for TC decomposition under visible light complemented with structure transformation from double type (AgI/BiVO 4 ) to sandwichtype (AgI/Ag/BiVO 4 ).…”

“…8d. There is a negligible decrease in the intensity of peaks in the used catalyst but the structural integrity of the composite prepared is intact [46]. Hence, the 1:1 (ZnV 2 O 6 /g-C 3 N 4 ) seems promising for real-time TC degradation.…”
