“…Quaternary ammonium salts (QAS) belong to an important class of cationic surfactants and can be used as fabric softeners, antistatic agents, germicides and additives associated with chemical reactions. They are molecules with at least one long, hydrophobic alkyl chain attached to a positively charged nitrogen atom [1]. Because QAS can render hydrophobicity to the negatively charged mineral particles in an ore pulp and enable them to be concentrated into a froth concentrate, QAS find application in froth flotation.…”

“…The characteristic peak at 1621 cm −1 was due to CC stretching vibration, and 1670 cm −1 was the stretching vibration corresponding to carbonyl moiety (CO) in amide group. In addition, the band observed at 721 cm −1 came from the special vibration absorption of quaternary ammonium salt, which confirmed that the desired product HPMAB had been formed. From the spectrum of PIADH, the absorption band at 3456 cm −1 originated from the valence vibration of NH band of amido fragment presented in AMPS.…”

“…The 1 H‐NMR spectra of HPMAB and PIADH are shown in Figure . The 1 H‐NMR (400 MHz, D 2 O) analysis data of HPMAB are presented in Figure (a), 5.54 and 5.56 (2H a , CH 2 C), 1.94 (3H b , CCCH 3 ), 1.75 (2H c , NCH 2 CC), 1.60 (2H d , NCCH 2  C), 3.24 (2H e , NCCCH 2 ), 3.06 (6H f , NCH 3 ), 3.28 (2H g , N + CH 2 C), 1.34 (2H h , N + CCH 2 C), 1.21 (26H i , CH 2 ), 0.80 (3H j , CH 3 ), and 6.25 (1H k , CONHC) . The 1 H‐NMR spectrum and the chemical structure of the target quaternary product were well matched.…”

“…However, numerous investigations have shown that conventional cationic surfactants are not readily biodegradable and create environmental pollution (Fan et al, ; Friedli et al, ). In the past, N , N ‐dimethyl‐ N , N ‐dioctadecylammonium chloride (D1821) and dimethyloctadecyl [3‐(trimethoxysilyl)propyl] ammonium chloride (DC‐5700) have been widely used as conventional textile softening agents in the textile finishing industry.…”
