Synthesis of amorphous mesoporous aluminophosphate materials with high thermal stability using a citric acid route

Abstract: Amorphous mesoporous aluminophosphate materials synthesized from precursors of Al(NO3)3/H3PO4/NH4OH in the presence of citric acid, exhibit high specific surface areas, narrow pore size distributions and excellent thermal stabilities.

“…WO 3 /SiO 2 with different WO 3 contents were prepared with a sol-gel method in the presence of citric acid, which has been proved previously an effective method for the synthesis of thermally stable mesoporous aluminophosphate materials or mesoporous silica-based materials [23,24]. The detailed process is as following.…”

“…The porous silica network can form during heating despite the existence of CA [26]. In our preliminary work, an amorphous mesoporous aluminophosphate (AlPO) with high thermal stability was obtained in the presence of citric acid [27]. To our knowledge, CA can coordinate with Al 3+ species to form relative stable Al-CA complexes under appropriate conditions [28].…”

“…In a 100 mL three-neck round bottom flask, A lCl 3 .6H 2 O (7.5 mmo l), and 4 mL of H 3 PO 4 (37 %) are introduced dropwise with stirring at room temperature [28][29][30][31][32][33][34][35]. A fter 30 min, 2.3 mL of ammon ia solution (24 %) was added dropwise to precipitate aluminu m phosphate at a pH of 9.0.…”

“…A lu min u m phosphate is of great interest in environmental, technological fields [20][21][22][23][24][25][26][27] and catalytic reactions [21][22][23][24][25][26][27]. It can be easily p repared by means o f a so l-gel p roto co l [28][29][30][31][32][33][34][35]. The prepared AlPO 4 Materials have high density of Brönsted acid sites making them part icularly suitab le as heterogeneous catalysts for d ifferent organ ic synthesis reactions [34][35].…”
