Synthesis of Aluminium Nanoparticles Using Electrochemical Method

Abstract: Aluminium nanoparticles (Al NPs) have been synthesized using electrochemical method. The synthesis was conducted by electrolysis of aluminium metal in a sodium citrate solution as an electrolyte solution. Formation of Al NPs was investigated on the variation of potential (5-50 V), concentration of electrolyte solution (0.02-0.42 M), and electrolysis time (15-75 minutes). The obtained product was characterized by X-ray Diffraction (XRD), Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM), Energy Dispersive X-Ray (EDX), and… Show more

“…The Al nanoparticles are also found useful for several other applications such as UV-SEF [15], label-free biosensing [16], non-linear plasmonics [17,18], light harvesting devices [19], photodetection [20], photocatalysis [21], high data density storage [22] and optoelectronics [13]. The Al nanoparticles can be prepared using different methods such as lithography technique [23], electrochemical method [24], laser ablation technique [25], and wet-chemistry method [26].…”

“…The appropriate parameters for the synthesis of Al-NPs are determined. Moreover, the metallic sample, which is prepositioned in an electromagnetic field generated by induction coils of appropriate geometry, is melted and levitated stably [ 8 , 9 , 10 , 11 , 12 , 13 , 14 , 15 , 16 ]. It should be mentioned that the experimental setup, which is used in this study, does not require costly equipment and can be upscaled to industrial applications with lower investment costs and expenses.…”
