Synthesis of a magnetoactive compound based on iron(II) sulfate

Abstract: A method for synthesis of a magnetoactive compound based on iron(II) sulfate in the presence of nitrosated lignosulfonates at temperature of 20 to 50°C is suggested. The method yields a magnetoactive compound with high relative magnetic susceptibility.

“…RMS was measured using a Gouy balance mounted on an analytical balance. 49 The particle size of the MF was measured on a HORIBA LB-550 particle size analyzer in scattering light intensity mode. Electron micrographs were obtained on a ZEISS Sigma VP scanning electronic microscope, with an accelerating voltage of 10 kV and an InLens detector.…”

“…33 High molecular weight stabilizers, such as synthetic polymers, [34][35][36] including polyvinyl alcohol, 37 polyacrylic acid, 38 polymethacrylic acid, 39 the three-block copolymer PEO-COOH-PEO, 40 the copolymer of acrylic, and p-vinylbenzenesulfonic and vinylsulfonic acids, 41 can be used to stabilize the colloidal particles of MFs. In addition, natural or modi¯ed biopolymers, such as dextran, 42,43 alginic acid, 44 humic acids 45 and lignosulfonates (LS), [46][47][48] including nitrosated LS, 49,50 are used as stabilizers.…”
