“…A general synthetic route for 4-aryl-1,2,3,4-tetrahydroisoquinolines 166 was reported from the reaction of aromatic aldehydes 163, methyl amine and α-haloacetophenones in the presence of sodium borohydride followed by cyclization with sulfuric acid and zinc in methanol (Scheme 47) [362][363][364][365].
