ChemInform Abstract Treatment of isobutene (I) with hydrogen sulfide (II) in the presence of an active alumina catalyst results in the formation of the thiol (III) mentioned in the title. The reaction has been studied in fixed and moving bed reactors; the yield increases with the acid content of the catalyst.
