Synthesis, crystal structure, and antimicrobial activity of a novel chlorido-bridged dinuclear manganese(III) complex derived from N,N′-bis(5-methylsalicylidene)diethylenetriamine

Abstract: A novel chlorido-bridged dinuclear manganese(III) complex, [Mn 2 L 2 (μ-Cl)Cl 2 )]·Cl·0.5CH 3 OH, where L is the zwitterionic form of N,N'-bis(5-methylsalicylidene)diethylenetriamine, has been prepared and characterized by elemental analyses, IR, and single crystal X-ray crystallographic determination. The crystal of the complex is monoclinic: space group C2/c, a = 20.0300 (9), b = 22.8494(8), c = 22.127(1) Å, β = 112.882(3)°, V = 9330.0(7) Å 3 , Z = 8. The asymmetric unit of the compound contains two dinuclea… Show more
