Synthesis, Characterization of Silver Nanoparticles Using Nigella sativa Seeds and Study Their Effects on the Serum Lipid Profile and DNA Damage on the Rats’ Blood Treated with Hydrogen Peroxide

Abstract: This study was aimed to produce silver nanoparticles using aqueous extract of Nigella sativa, also to investigate the effects of green synthesized Nigella sativa seeds silver nanoparticles on dyslipidemia and DNA fragmentation in hydrogen peroxide-exposed rats. The produced Nigella sativa seeds silver nanoparticles were characterized through Ultraviolet-Visible spectroscopy, Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy, X-ray powder diffraction (XRD) style, and Scanning Electron Microscope was used to inves… Show more

“…Chromosomal aberrations were increased here resembling that of other intracellular parasite like Toxoplasma (24), in Echinococcus ( 25) and Schistosoma BAYATI SMH (26). In sheep, chromosomal abnormalities were seen with other substances (12) as gap and break as well as a DNA fragmentation (27).…”

“…Silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) have aroused the interest of researchers in biological applications, the most important of which is antimicrobial treatment, among the various metallic nanoparticles accessible [8]. Silver nanoparticles have been widely employed as effective antibacterial drugs against a variety of bacteria, fungi, and viruses [9,10]. AgNPs have been shown to be effective against a wide range of antibiotic-resistant bacteria [6,9].…”

“…There is mounting evidence that ROS signaling plays a role in disease [6]. Some studies used vitamins or minerals to ameliorating the deleterious effect of oxidative stress like vitamin c and zinc and proven the effect of them as food additives that protect the immune system and cells from the risk of genetic damage due to oxidative stress [7,63]. In the current study, Lentinan which is macrofungus extracted from shitake mushroom was used to know its effect on some oxidative and antioxidant parameters, but there are some studies that confirm the relationship of Lentinan to the oxidative state in the body.…”
