“…The K m values of TMB for the prepared nanomaterials were higher than for HRP enzyme towards TMB with K m values 0.275-0.434 mM (ref.21 and 29) and for Au@Pd 0.30 NPs supported on magnetic-silica nanoparticles 30. The K m values were comparable to the reported CuO-Au nanoalloys recently reported 31. CuONRs@Pd 6 NPs exhibited better kinetic properties, especially towards H 2 O 2 , which is the substrate that interacts with the nanomaterial and generates ROS that oxidises the TMB substrate.…”

“…The V max of Fe 3 O 4 @SiO 2 -NH 2 -Au@Pd 0.30 NPs with TMB as substrate (8.65 × 10 −8 M s −1 ) and H 2 O 2 as the substrate (6.78 × 10 −8 M s −1 ) was comparable to that of HRP (8.70 × 10 −8 M s −1 ). 11 Also, the K m of Fe 3 O 4 @SiO 2 -NH 2 -Au@Pd 0.30 NPs with the TMB substrate (0.090 mM) was lower than that of FePt-Au hybrid (0.46 mM), 61 Fe-MiL-88-NH 2 (0.28 mM), 62 ZnFe 2 O 4 MNPs (0.85 mM), 63 and CuO−Au nanoalloys (3.54 mM) 19 and comparable to that of CuONPs (0.010 mM) 64 and Pt/Ni@ NGT (0.019 mM). 65 ) and then react with the second substrate, TMB, to produce colored products (TMBDI).…”

“…Nanozymes that posess peroxidase-like activity catalyze the oxidative reaction of various colorimetric substrates by transferring electron to H 2 O 2 . Since the discovery of the peroxidase-like activity of Fe 3 O 4 nanoparticles (NPs) in 2007 by Gao et al, different inorganic nanomaterials, including noble metals (e.g., Ag, Au, Pd, Pt), , transition-metal oxides and chalcogenides (e.g., FeS, CeO 2 , V 2 O 5 , CuO, MoS 2 ), metal–organic frameworks, , and carbon nanomaterials (carbon nanotubes, carbon dots, graphene quantum dots) have been discovered to possess intrinsic similar properties. These nanomaterials oxidize substrates such as o -phenylenediamine, 2,2-azino-bis-(3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulfonic acid), and 3,3′,5,5′-tetramethylbenzidine (TMB) to the corresponding colored products in the presence of H 2 O 2 .…”

“…The low value of K m is related to the higher enzyme affinity to a substrate and vice versa. 39,40 The K m and V m values of AuNPs@PMo 12 for TMB have obtained 1.57 mM, and 2.2 Â 10 À3 mM s À1 which offer AuNPs@PMo 12 as a suitable articial enzyme.…”
