“…Thus, the adsorption of MB over GO/MOFs (ΔH° = –6.38 kJ mol ‐1 ) may be physisorption. In addition, the entropy change ΔS° is positive, which reveals that the process results in an increase in randomness because the number of desorbed water molecules is larger than the number of adsorbed MB molecules (the MB molecule is bigger than a water molecule; therefore, several water molecules may be desorbed by adsorption of MB molecules) . Therefore, the driving force for dye adsorption (negative ΔG°) by GO/MOFs is due to both enthalpy effect and entropy effect.…”

“…The ν(C=O) vibrations in the carboxyl group was observed at 1660 cm −1 in the three products which is consistent with reported values for coordinated C=O in literature [34]. A value of 160 cm −1 was obtained for the Δ(ʋ asymm (COO-) − ʋ sym (COO-)), which indicates a bidentate coordination mode of the carboxyl group to the metal ion [35,36] while the ν(C-H) bending vibrations of the benzene rings was observed at 748 cm −1 [37]. The FTIR spectra of the synthesized MIL-53(Fe) and that of the Ag@MIL-53(Fe) showed similar peaks indicating that the incorporated silver nano-particles did not alter the structure of the MIL-53(Fe) [38].…”

“…When the concentration of DB80 was 50 mg/L, the adsorption capacity of Fe 3 O 4 /ZIF‐67 composite rose with the increase in adsorbent dose. This might be due to the increase in the adsorbent surface and the available active sites of Fe 3 O 4 /ZIF‐67 composite (Wang et al, ; Yılmaz, Sert, & Atalay, ). When the adsorbent dose was 5 mg, the adsorption capacity was nearly constant.…”
