Re-synthesis of Schiff Base Compounds by an Environmental MethodABSTRACT: Recently, microwave method has been used as an effective method to increase the rate and efficiency of chemical reactions. It is known that reactions take place without a catalyst and solvent with the microwave (MW) method. In this study, Schiff base compounds, which were previously synthesized in the literature and thought to have bioactive potential, were re-synthesized by microwave method without using catalysts and solvents, with an environmentally friendly approach. In the study, by using 4-methyl benzaldehyde and different aryl amine compounds, different Schiff base compounds were obtained in a short time and with high yield. The structures of the compounds were identified using 1 H NMR, 13 C NMR, FT-IR and elemental analysis methods.
