Synthesis, Characterization, and Biological Properties of Novel Bioactive Poly(xanthoneamide‐triazole‐ethersulfone) and Its Multifunctional Nanocomposite with Polyaniline

Abstract: Multifunctional nanocomposites represent a new class of multiphase materials containing dispersion of nanosized filler materials such as nanoparticles within the polymer matrices. “…According to our previous works in the synthesis and investigation of the bioactive polymers that were containing the 1,2,3‐triazole rings and xanthone moiety, and by reviewing the other projects that determined the antibacterial activity of the ferrocene and azine base material, it was decided to investigate the antibacterial activity of the synthesized polymer that have several active sites for bacteria denaturation. Hence, the in vitro antibacterial activity of the synthesized polymer containing 1,2,3‐triazole, ferrocene, xanthone, and azine units against clinical isolates of Gram‐positive and Gram‐negative pathogens such as E coli (ATCC 25922), S aureus (ATCC 25923), K pneumoniae (NCTC 5056), P aeruginosa (1561), and B subtilis 1715 (PY79) bacterial strains was tested and compared with penicillin, ciprofloxacin, and gentamicin as reference antibacterials.…”
