Synthesis, Characterization and Applications of ZnO/TiO2/SiO2 Zinc (tris) Thiourea Sulfate Nanocomposite

Abstract: ZnO/TiO 2 /SiO 2 nanocomposite was synthesized using microwave assisted sol-gel method and characterized using UV-Visible spectroscopy, XRD, SEM, EDX, FT-IR and TEM analysis. XRD results showed the crystallite in anatase phase. FT-IR reports bands that appeared at 1108 and 862 cm-1which shows the formation of Si-O-Si and Zn-O-Ti bonds. SEM and EDX analysis showed the incorporation of ZnO nanoparticle with the TiO 2 /SiO 2 nanocomposite which increase the separation of electron-hole pairs and can enhance in pho… Show more

“…Researchers explained the possibility of increased antibacterial activity due to the increase in coating sole adhesive to cotton bers. Manoharan et al, 2018 Hoang et al, 2016 cantly capable of increasing speci c surface areas compared to commercial TiO 2 (P25). The higher the speci c surface area of the photocatalyst the higher the area that opens between UV-C rays and the catalyst so as increase photo-active of the catalyst.…”

“…Each fabric sample was scanned five times for this purpose, and the average was recorded. Standard UPF protection rating in the range of 40-50 and >50 is considered excellent for fabrics, thereby providing effective protection against harmful UV radiation [45]. The UPF value of the pristine cotton fabric was 6, and the values for the fabric treated with functionalised TiO 2 nanoparticles exhibited higher UPF than untreated fabrics due to the ability of nano titania to block UV rays by absorption and scattering.…”
