U SE of L-carnitine (L-c.) bears potentials of decreasing hyperlipidemia following fat diet feeding. 25 Animal (rabbits) were divided randomly into five groups . Normal group were kept on a plain chow diet for 75 days. HC classes were on a diet (hypercholesterolemic diet) for seventy-five days. Atorvastatin group were fed the same diet and received atorvastatin orally (20mg/kg/day) from day forty-five for thirty days. L-carnitine group were fed the same diet and intraperitoneal L-c. (250 mg/kg/day). Treatment group were fed the same diet and atorvastatin orally (l0 mg/kg/day) and L-carnitine intraperitoneally (125 mg/kg/day). Histology of aorta and biochemistry of serum were carried out. Foam cells with interrupted endothelial lining and transformed muscle fibers were observed in aorta wall in hypercholesterolaemic rabbits. Normal aorta wall was observed in rabbits of Atrovastatin and treatment groups. In rabbits of HC group triglyceride was significantly increased compared to that of other groups (P<0.05). The animals that received L-carnitine showed significantly reduced triglyceride (P<0.05). L-Carnitine reduces atherosclerotic plaques.

Infectious diseases are the leading cause of death worldwide. Thus, nanotechnology provides an excellent opportunity to treat drug-resistant microbial infections. Numerous antibiotics have been used to inhibit the growth and kill of microbes, but the development of resistance and the emergence of side effects have severely limited the use of these agents. Due to the development of the nanotechnology, nanoparticles are widely used as antimicrobials. Silver and chitosan nanoparticles have antifungal, antiviral and antibacterial properties, and many studies confirm the antifungal properties of silver nanoparticles. Nowadays, the use of nanoparticles in the diagnosis and treatment of infectious diseases has developed due to less side effects and also the help of these particles in effective drug delivery to the target tissue. Liposomes are also used as carriers of drug delivery, genes, and modeling of cell membranes in both animals and humans. The ability of these liposomes to encapsulate large amounts of drugs, minimize unwanted side effects, high effectiveness and low toxicity has attracted the interest of researchers. This review article examines recent efforts by researchers to identify and treat infectious diseases using antimicrobial nanoparticles and drug nano-carriers.

T HIS study evaluates the effects of water stress on zootechnical, physiological and certain blood variables (biochemical and hematology parameters) parameters of Ouled Djellal ewes. The experiment was carried out on 40 ewes divided into 4 groups of 10 animals in each: control lot A, lots B and C were drinking water containing 1 and 1.6% Nacl, respectively, and lot D drinking only one day out of 3. All ewes were fed alfalfa hay and concentrate. Lower forage consumption with higher water consumption in the water-stressed females compared to the control group was observed, as well as weight loss in lots B and D and weight maintenance in lot C. The results showed that water salinity causes a decrease in heart and respiratory rates, while water restriction causes a decrease in respiratory rate due to decreased ingestion. While water stress does not appear to affect hematological parameters in ewes, it was appear to increase serum protein and blood glucose levels. Water restriction increases creatinine and urea in the blood, while water salinity decreases creatinine and urea. These findings highlight the important role of water quality as a limiting factor for animal husbandry in saline and/or low water resource environments.
