Synthesis, Characterization, and Anticancer Activities of Pyrogallol‐Based Arylspiroborates

Abstract: Arylspiroborate salts derived from pyrogallol, gallic acid, and propyl gallate have been prepared and characterized fully, including an X‐ray diffraction study for the tetrabutylammonium gallic acid complex 4. The tetrabutylammonium salts were examined for their potential anticancer activities against renal cell carcinoma (RCC) cell lines, using NBu4[Bcat2] (cat = catecholato) as a control.

“…Meanwhile, the authors further investigated the presence and distribution of coordination cross-links within the scaffold, which involves the polyphenol functions in insects and borate functions in plants. The new band at 1315 cm –1 in the FT-IR spectrum of the sealing scaffold supported this argument (Figure a), which is attributed to the asymmetric stretching relaxation of B–O–C . A noticeable decline in the wavenumber (Figure a) occurred in the region of ∼1191 cm –1 , which was assigned to a combination of O–H in-plane bending in PG (1189 cm –1 ) and C–NH 2 stretching in PAAm amine (1197 cm –1 ) .…”

“…Other factors, such as gaps between a binder and its substrate, might also play a role since permeation through them is inevitable. 39 An example of such a defect or feature is that the composites with the commercial thermal insulation acrylic adhesive (sample i in Figure 5g) still suffered from insulation performance decay, even if the glue had a thermal conductivity (72.9−77.8 mW m −1 K −1 ) close to that of the composites. Instead, nearly perfect contact at the joint of the water-restored composite, without any visible cracks, was further corroborated by SEM observation (Figure S16).…”

“…q-Hydroxy benzoic acid, a phenolic acid present in P. sativum and V. faba with great amounts was previously proven to have strong cytotoxic activity on both colon (HCT116) and liver (HEPG2) carcinoma cell line [34]. While pyrogallol exhibited a potential anticancer activities against renal cell carcinoma cell lines and no activity was observed with normal healthy cells [35].…”

“…The desboro-aryl amine substrates were subjected to EDCIassisted amidation using terminally unsaturated aliphatic acids to provide intermediates (27)(28)(29)(30) towards the nal tertiary amide capsaicinoids (31)(32)(33)(34). These intermediates were subjected to metal-catalyzed hydroboration, employing [IrCl(cod)(dppm)] 45 and pinacolborane (HBpin, pin ¼ 1,2-O 2 C 2 Me 4 ) at room temperature.…”
