Synthesis, anti-inflammatory, analgesic, and antibacterial activities of some triazole, triazolothiadiazole, and triazolothiadiazine derivatives

Abstract: This study is concerned with the synthesis of new 1,2,4-triazoles, 1,3,4-thiadiazoles, and 1,3,4-thiadiazines derivatives. Derivatives 3a-i were obtained by condensation of 4-amino-3-(4-pyridine)-5-mercapto-1,2,4-triazole 1 with the appropriate aldehyde. Compounds 4a-i were synthesized in a one pot reaction involving compounds 3a-i, formaldehyde, and morpholine. Condensation of compound 1 with the appropriate acids or 4-substituted phenacyl bromide gave compounds 6a-d and 8a-f respectively. The chemical struct… Show more

“…The Schiff bases are characterized by an imine group and are formed as a condensation product 2 of primary amine with an aldehyde or ketone in the presence of a dehydrating agent such as MgSO 4 . A number of Schiff's base metal complexes have displayed bioactivity as antibacterial 3,4 , antifungal 5 , anticancer 6,7,8 , anti-inflammatory 9 , anticonvulsant 10 , antiviral 11 and analgesic 12 agents. Although metal-based ethanolamines have historically been subjected of many investigations 13,14 due to their use as buffers 15 , catalysts 16 , inhibitors 17 , ion exchangers 18 , electroplating and dyes 19 , now they are garnering attention for their biological 20 role in plant growth 21 regulation, bacterial and fungal metabolism and as a cytotoxic agent 22 .…”

“…Therefore, searching for new drugs which could improve the quality of pain therapy seems to be most purposeful and firmly justified. Several reports have demonstrated that the search for new analgesics has already been undertaken and the antinociceptive activity of different derivatives of 1,2,4-triazole has repeatedly been demonstrated (Gowda et al 2011; Hussein et al 2011; Uzgören-Baran et al 2012; Vijesh et al 2013). A very similar effect has also been induced by pyrazoline (Joshi et al 2010) and morpholine derivatives (Ahmadi et al 2011; Xu et al 2008).…”
