“…With low price, excellent mechanical properties and thermal stability, the melamine resin is often used as wall material of microcapsules [18][19][20]. The rice husk powder, as a natural material, which is rich in plant fibers, has excellent toughness [21].…”

“…High concentrations of dust can cause pneumoconiosis, reduce the accuracy of instrument work, and cause coal and gas explosions, threatening the physical and mental health of workers 1 4 . According to incomplete statistics, by the end of 2021 China had 11,809 cases of pneumoconiosis, and between 2010 and 2021, accounting for the total occupational pneumoconiosis are as high as 80% a year, more than 50% by coal dust induced 5 , 6 (Fig. 1 ).…”

“…After curing, it can form a solid polymer with a three-dimensional network structure and has excellent mechanical properties. The preparation of epoxy resin self-healing microcapsules is of substantial application value for repairing the microcracks of cement-based materials. Many studies have been conducted on urea–formaldehyde/epoxy microcapsules, melamine/epoxy microcapsules, and phenolic/epoxy microcapsules, among others. These microcapsules are of fracture-release type, and, inevitably, formaldehyde is used as a raw material in the production of the wall material. Formaldehyde is easily released during use and causes substantial damage to the human body, which limits the wide application of self-healing microcapsules. Moreover, the fracture release of the microcapsules must reach a mechanical trigger point to promote the rupture of the microcapsules, and their repair performance and stability are not ideal.…”
