Synthesis and properties of PbGeO3 nanostructures

Abstract: PbGeO 3 nanostructures including nanofibers and nanobelts, have been synthesized via a facile hydrothermal method by the reaction between GeO 2 and Pb(CH 3 COO) 2 ·3H 2 O in the absence of any surfactant. The influences of synthetic parameters, such as reaction time, reaction temperature, and the concentration of ethylenediamine, on the morphologies and sizes of PbGeO 3 nanostructures have been investigated. It is found that an evolution of PbGeO 3 nanostructures from nanobelts to nanofibers is observed for th… Show more

“…It is noticed that the Ca 2 Ge 7 O 16 nanowires have flat tips. The flat tips are similar to those of the germanate nanowires prepared by other methods 4,7,8,11 . the strong diffraction peak of (320) indicates that the main growth orientation of the calcium germanate nanowires is <320> crystallographic direction.…”

“…Several kinds of germanate nanowires, such as Zn 2 GeO 4 [5,6] , PbGeO 3 [7] and strontium germanate 8 have been reported previously. Among these germanates, calcium germanate is a kind of excellent optical material exhibiting strong fluorescence emission at 620, 700 and 800 nm 9 .…”

“…Hydrothermal synthesis conducted in a sealed aqueous solution with high temperature and pressure is considered to be a significantly important and effective route for the formation of 1D nanoscale materials with a well-defined shape, size and structure [4][5][6]. In recent years, considerable efforts have been devoted to synthesizing germanate 1D nanoscale materials, such as PbGeO 3 1D nanostructures [7], strontium germanate nanowires [8], Zn 2 GeO 4 nanorods [9,10] and calcium germanate nanowires [11] by hydrothermal and solution process due to their potential applications in the fields of electrochemical sensors, catalyst, optical and nanoscale electronic devices.…”

“…In recent years, considerable efforts have been devoted to synthesizing germinate nanomaterials, such as CuGeO 3 [4] [5], In 2 Ge 2 O 7 [6] [7], Bi 2 GeO 5 [8], ZnGeO 3 [9]- [11] and PbGeO 3 [12]. However, reports about the fabrication of the Cd 2 Ge 2 O 6 nanostructures are still quite rare and the phase and morphology of the nanostructrues are still not well controlled.…”
