Synthesis and Photocatalytic Activity of Cerium‐Modified CdS‐TiO2 Photocatalyst for the Formaldehyde Degradation at Room Temperature

Abstract: The Ce‐CdS‐TiO2 photocatalysts were successfully synthesized by a simple sol‐gel way and loaded on the nickel foam. The specific surface area, crystalline phase, microstructure and surface functional groups of prepared photocatalysts were characterized by Brunauer‐Emmett‐Teller (BET) surface area, X‐ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscope (TEM), and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT‐IR). The photocatalytic tests of Ce‐CdS‐TiO2 samples demonstrated t… Show more

“…The photocatalytic performance of ZIF-8-T3 is signicantly better than those of recently reported photocatalysts for HCHO degradation under similar experimental conditions. 6,[42][43][44][45] The stability and reusability of ZIF-8-T3 were investigated by repeating the photocatalytic HCHO degradation with recycled ZIF-8-T3, as shown in Fig. S9.…”

“…On the basis of the above experiments and the energy gaps of the BiOBr (2.60 eV) and Bi 4 O 5 Br 2 (2.35 eV) catalysts reported in the literature, the feasible photocatalytic mechanism is proposed, and displayed in Figure . Under visible light irradiation, the rGO/BiOBr/Bi 4 O 5 Br 2 composites absorb the energy to generate electron‐hole pairs . The rGO can reduce the recombination of electron‐hole pairs by transferring photo‐induced electrons , , .…”

“…The mol ratio of Er/Zn and Yb/Zn are 1/100 and 3/100, respectively. The host cation of ZnS is 100 %, and the amount of impurities of metal fluoride is based on the host [41] . The doping amount of NaF, CaF 2 , LiF, AlF 3 and MgF 2 are fixed at 3 wt% (compared with the theoretical content of ZnS), and the doping amount of LiF is varied from 0, 1 wt%, 3 wt%, 5 wt%, 7 wt% to 9 wt%.…”
