Synthesis and Morphology Control of AM‐6 Nanofibers with Tailored ‐V‐O‐V‐ Intermediates

Abstract: Microporous vanadosilicates with octahedral VO6 and tetrahedral SiO4 units, better known as AM-6, have been hydrothermally synthesized with different morphologies by controlling the Na/K molar ratio of the initial gel mixtures. The morphology of the AM-6 materials changed from bulky cube to nanofiber aggregates as the Na/K molar ratio decreased from 1.9 to 0.2. Raman spectroscopy revealed that the VO3 (-) intermediate species plays an important role in the formation of the nanofiber morphology. The orientation… Show more

“…The reduction of 4-nitrophenol to 4-aminophenol with NaBH 4 is known to be catalyzed by silver nanopartilces and shows a strong size-dependent effect, with smaller Ag nanoparticles exhibiting higher rate constants. Figure shows that the apparent rate constant is maximum for the 2 h sample. The lower apparent rate constant with the sample beyond 2 h is due to increasing size of silver particles (dissociated from the zeolite and mostly in the bulk).…”

“…Since the active centers in catalysis often possess the dimension feature of nanometer to atomic scale, imaging catalysts at working condition has attracted much attention nowadays [120,121]. As a powerful technique, Raman imaging has been used for the preparation and characterization of catalysts [122][123][124]. However, the spatial resolution is still too low owing to the diffraction limit.…”

“…Among them, vanadosilicate AM-6, isostructural with ETS-10, is a 3-D, 12-membered microporous zeo-type material, consisting of SiO 4 tetrahedra and VO 6 octahedra [9]. Unlike ETS-10, AM-6 has 1-D VO 3 2-quantum wires instead of TiO 3 2-with narrower band gap compared to titanosilicate ETS-10 (i.e., *3.8 vs. *4.3 eV, for AM-6 and ETS-10, respectively) [10][11][12].…”
