Synthesis and Microstructure of TiN-AlN Composite Powder by Mechanical Alloying

Abstract: SYNOPSISHigh energy ball milling technique is often used in synthesizing ceramic composites. In this study, in order to obtain ultrafine TiN-AlN composite powder, which can be expected to improve the sinterability, mechanical alloying was employed, using AlN, Ti powders and ammonium carbonate as starting materials. The presence of nano-sized TiN was verified by XRD and TEM.
