Synthesis and Magnetic Properties of Phthalocyanine Based Carbon Materials

Abstract: A magnetic phthalocyanine based carbon material has been successfully synthesized by using a low energy process that employs highly chlorinated iron-phthalocyanine as building blocks and an alkali metal as a coupling reagent. The X-ray diffraction patterns and XPS spectrum for the reaction products suggest that they consist of amorphouscarbon material that contains uniformly dispersed iron ions.
